Next: "Show" on toolbar in Resource Usage view, dropdowns not avail
From: R.Scott Fleming on 6 May 2008 21:37 When in the Resource Usage view (Filter: Resource-Work, Table: Work, Group By: No Group), the Show toolbar dropdown options of Outline Level 1, ect. are greyed out and not available. When in this view for a particular Resource Name, I would like to expand/contract the displayed assignments(as displayed withthe +/- box next to the name) using this toolbar option. Why is this option not available?

Why > is this option not available? R.Scott, The outline levels are greyed out because there are no outline levels for resources. The Resource Usage view is a combination view - Resources and assignments. Outline levels only apply to a task hierarchy, as is shown in a task type view (e.g. Gantt Chart view), or the Task Usage view. All you have to do to expand or collapse the assignment rows is to either hit the symbol next to the resource name or use the "+", "-", or hide assignments toggle button. By the way, note that the screen tip associated with the "+" and "-" buttons is a misnomer when in the Resource Usage view - there are no "subtasks". Hope this helps. John Project MVP |
