static IP address? I leased a static IP address from RCN (which has a telecommunications monopoly in our building). eth0 does not exist on boot I'm using slackware 12.1. The eth0 device is not being setup on boot for an installed pcmcia card. However, if I manually remove the pcmcia card and reinsert it, ifconfig shows that eth0 exists. Also, if I use pccardctl to eject and then insert, ifconfig shows that eth0 exists.
