Slackware 13
As my subscription disk arrived in the UK last week I set about installing 13. which caused two interesting problems. I had to have a new computer built in February, (as the previous one died), it has An ASUS M2N68-VM motherboard with an AMDAthlon 64 7750 Dual processor, with two hard drives each of which has a s... 16 Oct 2009 10:44
slackware 12.1, kqemu, via CPU
Using slackware 12.1, the qemu virtualizer runs Windows 98 just fine on my Via C7-D CPU. But it's a bit slow. kqemu is supposed to fix that, but trying to compile and use kqemu has been a bit of an adventure. Two general problems. The only source package I can find for the kernel for Slackware 12.1 is configure... 15 Oct 2009 05:00

Wireless
Howdy folks! Got some wireless wiggyness here, and it's the first time I've played with wireless in Slack. I've read a few man pages and have come up with the following: in /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1.conf: IFNAME[4]="wlan0" USE_DHCP[4]="yes"DHCP_HOSTNAME[4]="Jason-wireless" WLAN_ESSID[4]="Correct" WLAN_MODE[4]="Mana... 9 Oct 2009 00:37

What will Slack 13 give me that Slack 11 doesn't have?
I'm not an upgrade-for-upgrade's-sake kind of guy - more like, if-it ain't-broke,-don't-fix-it. So, what would Slack 13 give me that Slack 11. doesn't have, besides the headaches of IPV6 and that whole new kernel? Thanks, Rich ... 16 Nov 2009 01:26

chroot = out of memory + change PS1 ?
I want to replace the useless "root(a)localhost" in my $PS1 by <consoleNumber> How do users know which VT they are in, as they step from one to the other, without remembering 'which button they pressed last time' ?!
