Solaris 10: How can I get a date that is exactly 30 days back?
I am unable to do this - I used to use a variation of the following command to get a date that is a few hours back: TZ=GMT+6 date '+%y%m%d%H%M' But I think this has its limits - what is the best way I can get a date that is x number of days back? Thanks, Anoop ... 21 Jun 2008 01:34
How to spec a Sun server - or any hardware?
I would like to ask a question of everyone in the group - how do you spec a server for your specific needs. I know there are sites like http://www.spec.org/ and http://www.tpc.org/, but these simply provide a basic guideline. What I would really like to know is how do you get to the "nitty gritty" of the figuring... 20 Jun 2008 11:12

(Hopefully soon to be followed by Linux boxes moving to autofs5, whose map semantics appear to be a much better match than autofs4. Our remaining BSD servers will stay with amd until they are retired.) The major effort is con... 19 Jun 2008 14:44

Upgrade path from Developer Express?
I thought I could Live Upgrade my Developer Express 08/07 install to Solaris 10u5, but doing so prompted a complaint from LU saying that I was trying to upgrade from 5.11 to 5.10. Okay, fine; I am willing to embrace OpenSolaris, so I tried to LU to that and it got completely confused by OpenSolaris' structure (som... 21 Jun 2008 03:36
