v240 console went away :-( I am just geting started with Sun-isms and Solarisisms (I'm a Linux guy), so please forgive me if I leave out some obvious piece of info :-) I'm working on a v240 via the net mgmt port I had copied a long line and pasted it into my terminal. About 70% of the line showed up, and the console just froze. No response... 27 Jun 2008 13:10

They have been up for several years, and now all of a sudden OS is complaining that qfe2 and qfe3 link is lost (cable disconnected). We only use qfe0 and qfe1 and there have never been any cables attached to other qfe ports. Any clue... 26 Jun 2008 13:35

These 3 disks are currently on the same disk controller. There are 2 controllers supplied with every 440. Solaris Error Log I have done some searching and haven't found any information relating to this, why is the error log more cryptic compared to AIX or even HP- UX. I know HP-UX is similar to the Solaris error log (dmesg) but it still gives more readable information i believe. Are there any tools which help analyze the error log or ar... 27 Jun 2008 15:14
Interesting Race condition in symlink and open/create Two kernel threads: T1 runs as a result of a user thread calling open("abc", O_CREAT) and T2 runs as a result of user thread calling symlink("def", abc"). Trying to break the Unix file system code with this scenario, T1 lookup (abc) // fails, not found T2 lookup (abc) // fails, not found T2 symlink(def, ab... 26 Jun 2008 13:35 |
