Hi ya'all

I tried to export a mp3 file for the first time since I installed Sonar
4 and the software came back with this message:

'The mp3 encoder must be unlocked before use. Please visit the cakewalk
website to upgrade a previous encoder, or to purchase a new encoder.'

Does anyone know why I'd have to pay for this. It's in the software
package dropdown menu?

If anyone has this patch or knows where I can get it please let me
know?

I need some help?

Thanks

I'm sorry for the dupe if this has been answered. The encoder is
licenced, so you need to leap through a few hoops.

You're better off going with LAME. I generally just do the final mix to
16 bit then use CDex with LAME to do the MP3 conversion. I've gotten
Sonar to do it directly with the exporting tools that Sonar offers, but
I don't really have the details at hand, so I'm not prepared to say that
it was the definite way to go.
