Man you got it!!! That's exactly what it is! He just felt comfortable
playing it. Don't know what I would have done differently, but it sure
sounds thin!

Thanks for listening Sue. I am working with envelopes to thicken up the low
end of the guitar when it is exposed, then thin it out as the song fills in.
I would like the second but the guitar and overall thinness. Otherwise I
think I like the upper registers ok on it.

For me it is a tough call. They're certainly different. The first one
feels mellower, and is quite pleasing to the ears. The second feels more
like a commercial mix, though -- more "radio ready", if you will. Note: I
am only listening through my crappy computer speakers.

One other comment on this in general: The chorus melody is eerily
reminiscent of Natalie Imbruglia's "Torn", with the exception of th line
that goes "lying naked on the floor" (which corresponds to "your love will
guide me home" in this guy's chorus). The rest of the chorus, though, feels
like pretty close to a carbon copy on the melody.

I never heard that song before, but your right it really sounds close to me
too. Gonna send Brian an email tonight and ask him about this.

Yes. You might call it too thin.
The way it struck me was too edgy ... i.e. with that point in the midrange.

First one is more flat and neutral.
