Only minor complaint (and note that I'm just listening on my crappy computer speakers) is there are parts that feel like they were mixed from the drummer's throne. That is the drums feel "out front" in the mix instead of behind the singer and guitarist, and the drums nearest the drummer (e.g. snare) also feel closer to the listener. There are also some varying levels in the drums, especially between the acoustic drum sounds and the electronic ones, so they feel like they are in a different space, but that may be intentional. > Just started this one. I'd definitely be tempted to flesh out the arrangement, though. Maybe leave it sparse through the end of the first chorus, then hit things over the head with a full band after that, and possibly bring it back down for the final section. Beyond that, the only minor niggle was it felt to me like the tambourine playing was a bit random at times in terms of when it was and wasn't playing rhythmically. Nice stuff overall. From: Max Arwood on 10 Jul 2008 03:54 I'm surprised you did not say anything about my tamborine timing???? I have been working on it all night tonight. I got it much closer that the on like version, have to upload it tomorrow. Tamborine sure is hard to play. It's even harder to fix when it's out!! Thanks for listening again. Rick, Thanks for listening. The percussion levels and EQ/Reverb vary more than I would like for then to. I hope to have some contrast but just not quite that much. >a bit random at times That's about the nicest way anyone has ever said to me that my timing sucks (in a bad sucking way). To me the timing was really bad in several places. That tamborine thing is about to drive me nuts. Replaying / cuting / splicing / dicing. I need a handy dandy chopper in a hopper to finish this thing <g>. Should have recorded to a click track.
