From: Vicky on 3 Jul 2008 12:10 Is there a setting that turns on/off spell checking for misspelled words but still shows the red squiggly line for duplicate words (it it). I looked in Word Options, under proofing and everything seems to be on. THanks!
From: Stefan Blom on 15 Jul 2008 04:51 I don't think you can instruct Word to look for duplicate words only. But note that you can have automatic spell check turned off and still check spelling manually (press F7) as necessary. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "Vicky" wrote: > Is there a setting that turns on/off spell checking for misspelled words but > still shows the red squiggly line for duplicate words (it it). From: Vicky on 15 Jul 2008 07:18 Hi Stefan, How would I turn on Automatic Spell Check? "Stefan Blom" wrote: > I don't think you can instruct Word to look for duplicate words only. From: Stefan Blom on 15 Jul 2008 07:47 Click the Office button, and then click Word Options. In the Proofing category, use the "Check spelling as you type" and "Mark grammar errors as you type" options (clearing them to turn off automatic spell check and checking them to turn it on). And no matter if automatic spell check is on or off, you can still spell check manually with F7 at any time. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "Vicky" <Vicky(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:5A8B046D-72A2-4AE1-BBF7-FD10C06C1C91(a)microsoft.com... > Hi Stefan, > How would I turn on Automatic Spell Check? > > "Stefan Blom" wrote: > >> I don't think you can instruct Word to look for duplicate words only.
