Can anyone tell me the best way to spin a globe in Flash? Is is best to use
vector art or should I use a gif? Obviously there are different continents on
all sides of the world - so does that mean lots of different art?

if 3D is not an option - and it has to be done in flash entirely - the
best way is to create a circle - mask it and then motion tween a flat
graphic of the continents across it - the mask will reveal the
continents only within the circle and the illusion will be that of a
globe spinning. It's not 100% realistic but it works pretty well.
