Yes, it is very nice and doesn't require a super fast computer either.

Have you tries making a landscape file from you back garden, or
similar?

What Mac software is available to create 360 degree panoramas from a
series of digital photographs?

No I haven't tried. I didn't know this was possible, maybe I'll have to
look at it further. I've just downloaded the WIP User Guide for
Stellarium to read later, maybe this may have contain some information
on creating custom landscapes.

Well my Canon camera came bundled with PhotoStitch I think. So far I
haven't tried doing anything with it at all. I think Pangeasoft had
something to make panorama photos but I'm not sure.

This is very nice indeed. I've been paying for various versions of
Starry Night over the years, but I'd love to support something open
source like this. I think I'll give it a good working out over the next
few nights, and continue to dream of living somewhere again where you
can actually see the night sky.
