From: Craig Andersen on 12 Oct 2005 20:33 At one time you could easily disable IPv6 in the /etc/sysconfig/network/config file. That seems to be gone. Is it back to messing with /etc/modprobe.conf ? or will yast->system->edit sysconfig do something ?

Something I have done is to include Tweak Network Settings in Firefox: http://www.bitstorm.org/extensions/ So for me there is no real need to turn anything off. Do you notice any delays? -- houghi Please do not toppost http://houghi.org You are about to enter another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind. Not really, I have noticed some of the IPv6 DNS queries in the past (some buzz on the net), but sometimes when analyzing IPv4 it is earier to eliminate v6 traffic from the equation. USE_IPV6=no was easy. I guess v6 is more and more integrated and less dual stack. When time permits I will have to go through the code.

In Firefox you can disable ipv6 and in my case it makes it really faster. But how is that done in Konq? It's a drag. -- Vahis

For increase of speed I use an extention: Tweak Network. -- houghi Please do not toppost http://houghi.org You are about to enter another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind.
