Hi!

----

Is there something like a pure software client which "simulates" a
SunRay (e.g. something which acts like a SunRay client and displays the
results in a X window) ...

You can use vnc and friends on a Sun Ray session.

Sure... and I could run Xvnc (which is (unfortunately) not shipped with
Solaris) ... but what if I want to work using the SunRay protocol
directly without requiring extra tools ? Direct SunRay support would
likely offer greater performance and less pain...

It's possible to write such a thing, but Sun has never released one.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Can I interpret that somehow that Sun internally has such a tool ?
