This is what you might see in an Asus motherboard manual, one without Supreme FX. Pin Signal Name Pin Signal Name 1 MIC 2 GND 3 MIC Power 4 NC 5 Line Out (R) 6 NC 7 NC <-------------- Missing Pin 9 Line Out (L) 10 NC Now, using your wiring names, this is how I would wire it. Only five of the wires are used. As far as I know, the "EAR" signals are the ones that go to the headphone jack, and that is why I've wired them to pin 5 and 7. Your "Line R" and "Line L" wires will not be used, and can be left dangling and unconnected. Pin Signal Name Pin Signal Name 1 "MIC IN" 2 GND 3 "MIC VCC" 4 5 "EAR R" 6 7 <-------------- Missing Pin 9 "EAR L" 10 In addition, you may want to check the motherboard documentation, for mention of AC'97 setting. The header wiring shown in the above table, assumes you set the motherboard up for AC'97 header style, which may be mentioned in the manual. The best way to search your motherboard manual, is to download the Acrobat PDF version from the support.asus.com web site. If you mention the model name/number of the motherboard, I can look in the manual and tell you what might work. Paul

You have two microphones. The rear of the computer has a microphone jack. And your front panel has a microphone as well. First, see if plugging in the front microphone, that it is detected by the audio wizard. It could be, that you haven't selected the microphone, via the control panel, and that is why the input signal is not coming in. I cannot find a reference on the Asus site, for Supreme FX pinout, so the pinout I provided is related to the Intel standard, and is my best *guess* as to the correct pinout to use. The fact that your headphones work, means three of the wires are in the correct position. My guess would be, the other two wire positions are correct, and the problem is a software problem. Paul
