I've just instaled Suse 10.0.
I'm shocked :) it is quite impressive, and everything is in the right place.
It recognized properly even my mouse and my monitor, while suse 9.3 just
said unknown logitech mouse and vesa monitor...

I've got 2 questions:

1) During the installation it said that amarok had mp3 support, but it is
via the helix engine. I would like to use the xine engine. Is there any
chance to have it working? Or should I install the guru packages?

2) I've got some problems with kdetv tring to get my terratec cinergu 400 TV
with video4linux. On suse 9.3 I solved this problems instaling the fglrx
drivers from ati (wivh where included on the DVD). On 10.0 DVD I can't find
this package. Any hint?

Thanks

Add packman as an installation source.

Visit the ATI website and see if there are drivers for SuSE10.

Note that Packman is still building a lot of its software for 10.0.

On this page

http://www.opensuse.org/ATI_Driver_HOWTO

they say there are proper drivers for SuSE 10.0. So I followed the new
HOW-TO that can be found here

ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/supplementary/X/ATI/ati-installer-HOWTO.html

so I've built the package for 10.0 etc.

but I'am still having some troubles.

At a first reboot, I was not able to use my monitor at 1280x1024 @ 85 Hz,
but only @ 60...
Mine is a Philips 109B40, properly recognized as a PHP 109B4.

I've got a radeon 9000 PRO as graphic card.

After some trial and error stuff, my monitor started working @ 85Hz, as I
wanted. But I notice there are problems becouse if I right click desktop
and choose config desktop -> screen savers

when I run an OpenGL screen saveeer for the first time it loas properly.
Then, if I stop it and reload it, it does not work anymore and I get a
black screen.

If I close the desktop config window and reopen it again, the screen saver
loadds properly.

Another issue: if I run kdetv, I get a black screen, and this is a real
thorn in my side. With SuSE 9.3 I only had to install the ati package that
came with the SuSE dvd. what's wrong now? What do I have to do? Any hint?

thanks

P.S. I am using the 10.0 release that includes flash player, real player and
other tools. ie not the opensource one.
