Yast->install software won't start

Keyboard dead on Suse 10.3 & 10.2 install on Dell E520
One of my customers bought several Dell E520 computers and when either the 10.2 or 10.3 installation was started, the USB keyboard went dead. apcups worked in 10.2, not in 10.3 :(
I had apcupsd working fine in 10.2. I just installed 10.3 and I can't get it to work. I think it must be a driver or udev problem. This is a USB BackUPS ES. lsusb doesn't even show my UPS now. I got far enough into the docs to think maybe I need to manually create hiddev* nodes...? Wanted to see if anyone else ... 17 Jan 2008 13:46

10.3 hangs after suspend - update
I reinstalled 10.3, with Gnome instead of KDE, and didn't re-install the Nvidia driver, and things are worse. Now I get the gui showing the reload progress bar, and then it drops back into a console window showing what looks like the output from the suspend, and dies.
