From: C-G on 16 May 2008 08:52 I have 2007 and I've a general problem with templates. 1. I have a template with a bullet list. 2. I use the template, but take away one or more bullets. I save it and send it to some with Office2003. 3. That person opens it and it automatically uses the template and takes away my changes. Why is this? Can I turn this function off. When I test it on my computer I can't repeat it, It behaves OK. Moreover I can't remember having this problem when I was on 2003. BR /C-G
From: Echo S on 20 May 2008 10:31 Generally speaking, if you're creating templates for 2003, you want to do it in 2003. There are very big differences between the way slide masters and layouts work in 2007 and 2003, and going back and forth, especially with templates, can be difficult. That said, where are you removing the bullets? From the slide master (the big one) or a slide layout (a little one)? See http://www.echosvoice.com/2007/editinglayouts.htm for a better idea of what I'm talking about. -- Echo [MS PPT MVP] http://www.echosvoice.com What's new in PPT 2007? http://www.echosvoice.com/2007.htm Fixing PowerPoint Annoyances http://tinyurl.com/36grcd PowerPoint 2007 Complete Makeover Kit http://tinyurl.com/32a7nx "C-G" <CG(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:E87F960B-9856-46E8-B7A8-41F8D494911E(a)microsoft.com... >I have 2007 and I've a general problem with templates. > > 1. From: C-G on 20 May 2008 14:58 Thanks for your answer. We have tried this with masters from both 2003 & 2007 >> no difference I'm removing the bullets in an ordinary ppt-file. Save it and when it opens it uses teh master design and removes my changes. It seems that it "forces" the layout on thr file. Morover I've tried it on another PC with 2003 and that one behaves ok. ??? /C-G "Echo S" skrev: > Generally speaking, if you're creating templates for 2003, you want to do it > in 2003. From: Echo S on 21 May 2008 10:22 You may be running into a multiple master bug, then. http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.powerpoint/browse_thread/thread/228518d773315799/04b8b45e2b9ebd7a?lnk=st&q=master+echo+group%3Amicrosoft.public.powerpoint&rnum=16#04b8b45e2b9ebd7a might help you with some workarounds. But if the same file doesn't exhibit the same problem on a different computer, then I'm at a loss. -- Echo [MS PPT MVP] http://www.echosvoice.com What's new in PPT 2007? http://www.echosvoice.com/2007.htm Fixing PowerPoint Annoyances http://tinyurl.com/36grcd PowerPoint 2007 Complete Makeover Kit http://tinyurl.com/32a7nx "C-G" <CG(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:EA3D6EA1-228A-4308-9EDF-6AB0E8E476F0(a)microsoft.com... > Thanks for your answer. > > We have tried this with masters from both 2003 & 2007 >> no difference > > I'm removing the bullets in an ordinary ppt-file.
