What a bunch of losers. The team, the GM, the whole organization.

I'm not arguing with this move, but doing it now just makes them look
like complete idiots in so many ways.

1. Indecisive. The time to fire Willie was after the San Diego series,
or even earlier. Now, the team puts together a little run and starts
playing better, and that's when they can him.

2. Dishonest. Minaya comes out twice, even a couple of days ago, to
give his full support to the manager and say that he thinks the team
will turn it around. Well, maybe 5 out of 7 is the start of that
turnaround. Where is that support?

3. Giving immunity to the GM. It's apalling to see Minaya act as if
he's calling the shots here, focus entirely on WIllie, and not take
any blame himself for what this team is doing. How about Wilpon coming
out now and saying Minaya is on notice? He's as much responsible for
this mess as Willie, if not more.

There are probably a dozen more. The entire organization looks like
they're in shambles now. At this point in the season why not stick it
out and see if they can make that turnaround?

The main problem on this team is the bullpen. No management moves can
fix it short of bringing in new players. It's Minaya's fault for not
building a better bullpen. As for the other players, they're his fault
too. I'm not a Willie fan and agree he probably had to go, but the way
they did it, and the timing, just shows what a mess this team really
is, on all levels.

I'm disgusted, as usual.
