Check over at http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.html?f=14 (that's their mobile phone forum) There are several lengthy threads discussing what 3 will offer if you cancel. I called a month before the end of my contract and asked to switch to PAYG when the contract ended. I then waited until about a week before the PAYG was due to start and they came back with an okay offer. SE 770i (free) 250mins any time, any network, 100 txts. 10 per month on an 18 month contract. Nowhere near as good as my previous deal which was approx 10 for the whole year! (e.g. 1/month) The deals seem to vary from month to month and from person to person. BUT the main trick is to wait for them to make you an offer after you've cancelled. If you try and ask them for a deal it wont be as good.

They've said, in writing, that the discount will last for life. But I'll probably cancel in 18 months to see if the deals are any better.

So they mostly call from landlines? They could use calling cards to reduce cost http://www.magsys.co.uk/telecom/residx.htm Steve Terry
