From: PP on 28 Aug 2006 20:06 Hi I have a Toshiba Treca A4 Laptop and have a question about how to remove the case (leaving the screen intact) as I feel that my laptop keeps switching off by it self. I think it has to do with the heat of the CPU and it has to do something with the FAN etc. Could some one point me to a manual/help/advise about how to remove the cover so I can access the relevant areas (CPU/FAN ETC). Many thanks in Advance. Paul Phillips

This is an example of a site that contains many different disassembly procedures. http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/Toshiba-Satellite-A85/replace-laptop-memory-1.htm Unfortunately, your model is not listed on the main page, but there are enough examples so that you can get a rough idea of how to do it. If you examine enough Toshiba designs, you might see a pattern emerging. http://www.irisvista.com/ Paul
From: PP on 29 Aug 2006 03:02 Thanks for that. I have already check that site, yes plenty info but I need to know something specific, there is a cable (white and black) that runs directly from the LCD to underneath the motherboard and woundered how to get this out with breaking it. Thanks Paul Phillips Paul wrote: > In article <1156810081.936722.34280(a)i3g2000cwc.googlegroups.com>, "PP" > <paul(a)bobbob.net> wrote: > > > Sorry, the make model is Toshiba Tecra A4 > > PP wrote: > > > > > Hi I have a Toshiba Treca A4 Laptop and have a question about how to > > > remove the case (leaving the screen intact) as I feel that my laptop > > > keeps switching off by it self. > > > > > > I think it has to do with the heat of the CPU and it has to do > > > something with the FAN etc. > > > > > > Could some one point me to a manual/help/advise about how to remove the > > > cover so I can access the relevant areas (CPU/FAN ETC). > > > > > > Many thanks in Advance. > > > > > > Paul Phillips > > In a search engine, enter your brand/model number and the keyword > "disassemble".
