Hi,

Is it me or is there something currently wrong with some of debians uk
mirrors?

These mirrors are supposed to be ok according to
http://www.de.debian.org/dmc/today/

I've often found the uk debian mirrors to be unreliable. On the other
hand, ftp.de.debian.org nearly always works.

I use www.mirrorservice.org which is run by the University of Kent. They
seem quite reliable. From my sources.list:

deb http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/ftp.debian.org/debian stable main
contrib
deb http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/security.debian.org
stable/updates main contrib

One per line of course. Instead of stable you can use the relevant
release name if you prefer :)
