Totally OT but hilarious
Hi: A neighbour of mine popped a note through my door this morning clearly typed on her computer. At the bottom was a hand-written note: "I can't think why the margin is printed a bit crooked: it was straight on the screen!" TalkTalk and Linux
I'm considering going with TalkTalk for phone and broadband as they've currently got a stunningly cheap offer on, but I'm wondering whether their freebie modem is workable with Linux. Their current model is the Huawei Smart AX MT882 which has USB and ethernet ports and the recommended method for connection in ... 21 Sep 2007 06:08
Bad superblock
I'm working on virtualizing an old Red Hat 7.3 box. I replicated the contents of the physical machine to the virtual disk, built a kernel with the right drivers, and can boot the virtual machine. But I get: (Repair filesystem) 1 # fsck /dev/sda1 fsck 1.27 (8-Mar-2002) e2fsck 1.27 (8-Mar-2002) fsck.ext3: No su... 18 Sep 2007 18:07

USB key with encryption and fingerprint reading?
Wotcher all, anyone know of a USB key that does fingerprint recognition and data encryption in hardware? I've seen some that do fingerprint recognition in hardware and need a fingerprint to gain access, but not that actually encrypt as well. Given the relative ease of getting inside a key and removing the memory ... 16 Sep 2007 06:13
changing Arabic font under Konqueror (Sarge-->Etch)
I recently made the step to Debian Etch. Unfortunately the font used in Konqueror to display Arabic is not as good (according to my taste) as it was under Sarge. I have put screendumps on my website so you can see the difference: http://www.coolens.net/download/etch.gif http://www.coolens.net/download/sarge.gif ... 10 Sep 2007 15:37
