Nokia 6120 as a Linux modem?
Folks, I went into a three shop today to ask about their mobile internet deals - having established that the USB modem they sell works fine with Linux. Those are out of stock at the moment, but the saleswoman suggested that I go for a 6120 smartphone instead - 15 quid a month plus a five for unlimited data, and ... 8 Oct 2007 16:21

Buying a Linux Laptop from Dell (episode 2)
I posted about buying a linux laptop from dell a month or so ago. Finally today it has arrived ! There were a few delays due to component shortages, but I think I have got off lighter than a lot of other people - only a week or so late. So far - the machine itself works well - right out of the box. Ther... 2 Oct 2007 15:23
QoS and VoIP
I'm stumped. I'm trying to get my (Debian "lenny") GNU/Linux server to prioritise VoIP traffic and I've been reading guides until my head feels like it's going to explode. I've got as far as these requirements: 1. I don't want to install imq if I can help it; surely there must be some other queuing discipline thi... 28 Sep 2007 11:17
gnome weather applet problem
I know I must have done something..... The gweather applet used to work on the machine I'm using now. It works fine on my machine at home (Debian testing like this one) and on my 64bit machine at work. Here, it never manages to make a connection. netstat -ta never shows any connections (I've managed to catch them... 1 Oct 2007 11:06
