Pleasant surprise I have a nasty WiFi dead spot at home, so to solve the problem of poor signal I bought a pair of Devolo 'HomePlug' AC Ethernet devices. To give you some degree of security, they must be configured with an encryption key and the set of devices that can join your local net. Imagine my surprise to find a Linux dire... 25 Dec 2007 04:33

DVD burner with verify option? Hello all, does anyone know of a convenient drag 'n' drop DVD burner package like Gnome Baker but one that has a verify facility? Given that I find DVD to be the most dodgy of all the storage mediums I'm surprised that there's no verify facility on all DVD burning software. BTW I know about programmes like diff ... 10 Dec 2007 02:26
Activating XDMCP server under Ubuntu 7.10 Hi Folks, I'd like to run XDCMP around home (don't worry - I know it's horribly insecure). All the guides I can find say that I should use gdmsetup and tick "Enable XDCMP". Unfortunately, they changed the look of gdmsetup after 6.04, and that option isnlt there any more. I have made sure that the login screen ... 10 Dec 2007 02:26
