Most reliable USB ADSL modem?
Hello all, does anyone have any good experience using USB ADSL modems? I'm hitting the same problem I had with the last ADSL dedicated router, it falling over on a regular basis. I cured that by getting an ADSL PCI card for my home firewall but now I have a remote site that has a mac mini installed, so need a USB ... 30 Dec 2007 13:12
Startx for live cds
Is there an option to startx with (say) a particular resolution?. Sometimes the simpler live cds don't get the resolution right: sometimes it's too fine so you can't read the text or simply (out of range). I've tried man startx which didn't give much useful information. ... 20 Dec 2007 16:27
Fujitsu Siemens Amilo laptop - any good for Linux?
I've seen one of these with a fairly good spec at reasonable price but don't know if there'd be problems with it running Linux (especially things like the wireless interface: my only previous experience trying to get an external wireless card running on a laptop were that it'd boot and see the card in knoppix but h... 22 Dec 2007 07:57
IPCOP and high speeds
Hi there, A question: I have a 20480/1024 (kbit/sec) ADSL line, but I can't get higher speeds than around 8 mbit, no matter what I try. I'm running IPCOP ver. 1.4.10 and I currently have Traffic Shaping turnd off. I had it turned on to 20480 down and 1024 up, but then I couldn't get speeds higher than around... 21 Dec 2007 09:15
Problems with Evolution, BTYahoo, and openSUSE 10.2
I recently upgraded my copy of Evolution to 2.12.0, under openSUSE 10.2. This does not seem to delete e-mail on the BTYahoo server after 7 days, despite having that option set up and working in previous versions - mail is left on the server for longer than this. Is there a way to trace the commands sent to the... 19 Dec 2007 18:44

I've been playing around.
Does any one notice that KDE is less stable than Gnome. I find Gnome crashes less and is a lot more solid.
