Apt stuck with missing new line in libdb4.2 - way out?
Hello, My Debian Etch system is stuck in an un-updateable state due to a 'missing new line' in libdb4.2. As this package seems fairly well linked into the system I can't remove it without taking out 200 other packages which would trash the system. The missing new line is (not) in a configuration file claims apt ... 14 Jan 2008 05:33

Samba problems after using gsambad on Ubuntu 7.10
I had a working Samba domain controller at home before using gsambad to look at the Samba configuration. File encryption
Can anyone recommend a good in-line file encryption utility. I had a quick look at bcrypt, but that seems to be intersctive. I really want to be able to tar|bzip2|encript|ftp from a cron task. What to do with an old machine.
I recently resurrected an old machine. A K6-2 running at 300MHz. Seems I might as well install Linux on it. Trouble is, I have no idea what to do with this thing. Anyone have any thoughts? It's too slow for video. And doesn't really have enough disk space to use as a file server. (Yes, I know you have no id... 10 Jan 2008 07:45
