These two show at least one clear problem: the access point uses some
form of encryption, but the wlan0 interface has none set.

Can you associate if you turn off all access control at the wireless
access point? I think you need to confirm this before moving on.

What security does the access point require (in normal non-testing)
use? If it is WPA, is wpa_supplicant running and with what settings?
What, if anything, does it say if you run it in debug mode?
