I'm not keen on installing Stuffit Expander, and I have -one- file that
I need to unstuff (Folder Icon X, http://naratt.com/FolderIconX.html).

Any options? Command line fine too. I just want something a bit less
intrusive than Stuffit - something that I can trust will do its job
once and then be discarded.

(Annoying too that FolderIconX is distributed as a standard .dmg)

Cheers,
Ian

The full Stuffit is a bit intrusive maybe, but Stuffit Expander has
always been just a small application that you can junk if you want. It
doesn't seem worth making any effort to avoid it.

It's all the registration faff and what have you - I went off Smith
Micro years ago.

Have found this:
<http://wakaba.c3.cx/s/apps/unarchiver.html>

Have set it to handle Stuffit files only - that's all I want and need.

There's also BetterZip which is shareware and handles .sit format as
well as lots of others
