From: medgirl on 11 Dec 2005 12:14 I was wondering if anyone here is using the UpToDate medical software with Windows Mobile 5 (http://www.uptodate.com). I can't seem to get it working. I have installed the patch from UpToDate that is supposed to make it work with WM5, but I get no icon on my device for UpToDate. The data seems to be installed on my SD card, but I can't access it. I am using an Axim X51v.
From: Clinton Fitch, Clinton Fitch (Dot) Com! on 11 Dec 2005 14:37 Medgirl, Have you contacted uptodate to see if they can offer some support on this? I've done a quick look through the newsgroups archive and didn't see anything related to it. I got it to work with additional instructions sent to me by UpToDate. I have pasted their email below: Thank you for contacting UpToDate. We will need to copy some files to your PDA to create the shortcut icon for you. 1.. Place Pocket PC CD 1 into the CD-ROM drive 2.. Place the PDA into the cradle and ensure ActiveSync is connected 3.. Remove the memory card from the PDA 4.. Double-click the My Computer icon 5.. Right-click the CD-ROM drive icon and choose the Open option 6.. Double-click the Bin folder 7.. Double-click the install2003 folder 8.. Single-click the file uptodate.Arm 1100 (4K) v3.00.CAB 9.. Go to the Edit menu and select Copy 10.. Close all open windows 11.. Double-click the My Computer icon 12.. Double-click the Mobile Device icon 13.. Double-click the My Pocket PC icon 14.. Go to the Edit menu and select Paste At this point you may be asked you wish to convert the files by Microsoft ActiveSync. Yes is the appropriate answer. 15.. Close all open windows Repeat this process for the file named msvbppc.armv4.CAB. Once completed go to the Pocket PC to run the two CAB files that were copied over previously. 1.. Go the Start menu and select Programs 2.. Tap the File Explorer icon 3.. In the upper left pull-down menu choose the My Device option In this location the two files that we copied earlier will be present. Tap on each file in turn to run that part of the installation. Answer Yes to any questions that are asked. Once completed soft reset the Pocket PC and the Program part is now installed.
