From: Paul Thompson on 31 Jan 2008 16:44 Updated from the 2.6.22.13 to the 2.6.22.16 kernel and now it fails to boot with a "error while parsing number". Help, any suggestions? Thanks Paul

Darklight: If the OP's situation is the same as mine, this kernel update was done via online update. Watching the progress, I was pleased to see that after applying the main kernel delta, it was downloading and applying x11-video-nvidiaG01 and nvidia-gfxG01-kmp-default automatically. OP obviously got an error message - I have a blank screen. (Pls excuse posting from 'the other side' until I get time to repair openSUSE) D2

If you can't repair the system or boot the old kernel, then boot the DVD/CDs and run the update system. Repair install doesn't work off the 10.3 DVDs. |
