Every time I try to update the html code of a page with a simple pop-up menu
inside, Fireworks CS3 launches a messagebox saying: "No matching Fireworks HTML
was found. A Fireworks table will be inserted at the end of th HTML fil. OK to
continue?".

It does not work, even when the page is a simple one made by Dreamweaver CS3
or Fireworks CS3 itself, and it only contains a CSS pop-up menu made by
Fireworks.

Edit HTML with an HTML editor, not a graphics program. Fireworks isn't designed to be an HTML editor, and it isn't good at it.
