Alright, I am currently running my iMac G3 on a 9.2.2 system, but would
like to upgrade to Mac OS X 10.2 Jaguar. For some reason, I can't seem
to find any information as to the price or the system requirements.
The Apple site just isn't much help, and I can't run Tiger on it just
yet.

Anyone have any help for me??

Thanks!,

Mac G3, USB ports, 128MB memory, and around 4GB disk space are
approx the bare bones minimums.

_HOWEVER_, general feeling is that 512MB is must better, although
if you are not going to try to do to much heavy lifting or at
least not try to run a lot of concurrent apps, then 256MB or 384MB
might be survivable. But if you are planning on doing lots of
heavy duty picture editing or video editing, then more memory
would be highly recommended, along with a fast CPU.

More disk space is always better. This could be upgrading to a
120GB internal disk (which should be doable for very little money;
http://dealmac.com). Or you could attach an external disk for
additional space if you have Firewire, or USB 2. USB 1.1 is a bit
too slow for anything except archival storage.

Finally, Panther (10.3) would be a better choice, as it has much
better performance on existing hardware, than Jaguar. And since
Tiger has been released, copies of Panther should be much less
expensive than its original retail price.

Some Google searches should be able to provide some sources of
Jaguar and/or Panther. Try some searches like "MacOSX Panther
Cost", "MacOSX Panther Price". eBay is also a place for getting
copies of older versions of the OS.
