From: Jimbob on 3 Feb 2006 15:10 Hello again, My next question concerns putting a new hard disk into an iMac G3 400 MHz SE. I've purchased a 120GB Seagate drive and when I replaced the battery backup recently it looked like an easy job to replace the hard disk. The problem is cloning the contents of the current hard disk (11GB in size I think). I'm planning to use Carbon Copy Cloner to copy the old hard disk onto my iBook drive into a blank HFS disk image. I can't test this theory because the iMac is in Worcestershire and the iBook is in Southampton. Will this work? I've had a read of the CCC manual and I think it will but I'm unsure. I don't have a external firewire case to put the new hard disk in which would of made the job easier. Another concern is, I guess I'll be able to either start the iMac using a CD or in firewire target mode to partition the new drive, anyone know if this is true? I think getting the data back onto the new hard disk will be the easy part of the whole process. Thanks once again for your help, Jimbob
