I am having the same problem. Have you found a solution for this yet?

Using SSMS2008 to view Job Activity Monitor on SQL2005

I'm trying to use the SQL2008 SSMS to view the job activities on several
SQL2005 servers and get the following error:

TITLE: Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
------------------------------
Cannot show requested dialog.
------------------------------
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Unable to execute requested command.
------------------------------
jobs (SqlManagerUI)

Is there a setting I missed?
When I installed the SQL2008 on my machine, I used the following work around
to get my registered SQL2005 servers in the 2008 SSMS:
http://blogs.msdn.com/buckwoody/archive/2008/08/18/importing-sql-server-2005-registered-servers-to-sql-server-2008.aspx

I'd really like to use the one console (2008 SSMS) for all the servers I
manage - any help would be appreciated.

I don't have this problem, and view job activity daily on my 2005 servers.
Did you install SP1 on your client machine to get the tools up to date?
