So I load my swf container into director, and from there it accesses the flv
file with the alpha channel encoded, but when I play it in director there is a
white background where it is supposed to be transparent. How do I get it to
become transparent? I'm using Director 11.

Select your sprite and in the property inspector, in the sprite label, put the ink of the sprite to "background transparent".

Ok I tried this but it doesn't work. I'm positive my flv is transparent because I can change the background color if I open the file in IE by editing the html. What other problems could I be having?
