From: pfisterfarm on 23 Apr 2008 09:44 I'm working on a project involving vlans and I'm kind of stuck on something. I've got several 8510 switches that I'm trying to set up vlans and VTP on. None of them seem to give me any way to do that. I'm sure I might be missing something simple. Do the 8510s support creating vlans? Thanks! --Steve

Do the 8510s support > creating vlans? As mentioned here recently but someone, don't bother with VTP would be my plan. It's been a long time but I recall that there were two different 8500 models. CSR, MSR maybe. Same chassis, maybe some shared cards but two VERY different boxes. First thing would be to find out which you had. http://www-europe.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/atm/c8510/12_0/index.htm Catalyst 8510 MSR Cisco IOS http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/l3sw/8510/rel_12_0/index.htm Catalyst 8510 CSR Cisco IOS Good luck :-)) In case you need more - Good luck again.
