hi all -

i've been working on a director movie with a few wmv files in it and have run
into a few problems....

1) on some computers, the wmv files do not play: a red x shows up instead.
i'm unsure as to why this happens (and only on some computers) and have no idea
how to fix it.

2) i would like to hide the user mouse when it is over the wmv files that are
playing. i am familiar with how to hide the mouse when it is over a non-movie
cast member, but have been unsuccessful in my attempts to duplicate this result
with the movie cast member.

also, given these issues, would you recommend that i use quick time or another
format for my movie files?

any assistance you could provide would be most appreciated! thanks!

WMV does seem to be the mos poorly supported format, with the smallest
number of interactaction functions. Quicktime appears to be the most
flexible but the end user would have to install the non native quicktime
driver set. Avi files can fall right into place and give you pause/play
and timeline slider functionality.
Thre are a could of 3rd party video xtras out there like AdvancedMPEG
whick handles the MPG stanrard well.
