From: Kevin Duggan on 12 Dec 2005 19:54 I am on a Macintosh w/ Tiger OS. I have a DVD that is supposed to be Mac/PC and is supposed to show a interface I can open the DVD and see all the files,... including quicktime movies. But no matter what I do the interface does not appear, and supposedly the DVD is OSX Mac and PC. After double clicking the DVD one of the items that appears is the "TILCS2 Launchpad Mac" (UNIX executable file) but clicking this only opens Photoshop. What utility on Tiger would open this DVD so the interface would appear. This is a 506k file and I think is supposed to start the process I see the AutoRun icon on the DVD for the PC............ -- http://www.soundclick.com/kevinduggan http://www.kevsblues.com

If you're talking about some sort of helper/wizard/what-have-you program that's supposed to automatically launch when the disc is inserted, there's no such functionality in Mac OS. It was introduced some time ago and then removed with the advent of OS X because Apple discovered that almost no users or legit developers wanted or needed it, but it presented a lovely vector for malware potentially impacting those users least-prepared to handle an attack. It sounds like whoever staged the disc didn't really have a clue what they were doing on the Mac side. What's the DVD supposed to contain? G -- Goal 2005: Convincing James Hetfield to cover the Strawberry Shortcake "Are You Berry Berry Happy?" song.

You didn't give nearly enough information to answer this question adequately. What do you expect to happen when you use this DVD? Is it software, a video, music files, or some combination of those? Was this DVD purchased from a store or software publisher? If so, return it and tell them it does not work or call the company's tech support to ask for assistance.
