When they switched to me.com, I wasn't too worried, until I can no
longer access the web-based Homepage application. Even though I now
use iWeb to create web pages, I still use Homepage to organize them
(since iWeb doesn't see to have a way to index a large number of pages
afaict).

The web site says it is temporarily down, but it has been since the
switchover and I'm worried. Anyone know more?

I tried mine and it worked fine.

I haven't been there since iWeb appeared. It sure looks different.
Good luck.

If you go to homepage.mac.com, it redirects you to MobileMe Migrating.

By the way, I searched on Apple's site, and there was a way to email a
question about HomePage. Unfortunately, the page made a statement to
the effect that HomePage is being phase out altogether in October of
this year!

I have extensive structure built up with HomePage and use it to link in
iWeb-created stuff. That's quite a step they're taking. It is quite a
step for someone like to to recreate manually all the infracture I
made in HomePage, with home-brew stuff in iWeb. It wasn't immediately
plain to me that this was possible until I dinked with it some last
night e.g. http://web.mac.com/stepheda versus
http://homepage.mac.com/stepheda . On top of that, Google knows about
the latter but not about the former!! (it is way cool for one's
homepage to top a name search on one's self)

As of today, it appears to be back to the same old same old. As I've
only made picture galleries with it, I've moved them to the new
Galleries setup, but what a pain! I had to download (via iDisk) all of
the various folders, then re-upload them to albums. All captions and
comments are lost in the transition. Of course, you can still manually
place html documents into your Sites folder and they work fine (i.e.
your vanity domain remains intact)

I think the idea was to have you use iPhoto (or Aperture... why do I
always think of Speculum?) to create a picture gallery. I tested it
with my wife's account, and it's really very easy. It also allows
others to download and upload images to the album, sort of like Groups,
which still hangs in the balance...
