It doesn't seem to do anything. I'm using 2 cards and latest
Catalyst.

HD 3800 (2X DVI + svideo) 1. Samsung 1600X1200
HD 2400 pro (DVI/VGA = svideo) 2. Samsung 1280X1024

These displays are extended.

I was hoping to have the Start button, taskbar, etc. switch to the 2nd
monitor when I make click "Make Primary". Nothing happens. Even with
2 video cards, can I not somehow alternate which shows the Windows
"Start" button?

Are you clicking the "Apply" button as well?

Thanks for helping with this.

When "Make Primary" is clicked, the display adapters reset, causing
the "keep changes" dialog to appear. This applies the setting so that
"apply" is not an option after the change.

I did notice that my autohide toolbars switched to the newly selected
"primary." Also, apps open there as well. Only the taskbar remains
in the old location. Is there a taskbar setting or something that
might be causing this?

Be sure the taskbar is not 'locked' then drag the thing anywhere you want
it, top, bottom, sides, primary, secondary, wherever you want the thing.

The mane difference between primary and secondary monitors has to do with
accelerated 3d (DX 9/10) content. Most programs will start up (initialize)
proper only on the primary monitor. Games run mostly on the primary monitor
only, Tuner cards are good for this too. Their is a lot of software that
does not behave well under multi-monitor setups.
