I use at least 5 different "eraser" programs in an attempt to erase
traces of my Web usage and other tracks.

I also have a few programs which erase many index.dat files. My music
flv files and other media are not saved to my C: drive. They are
downloaded and saved to other outboard USB drives. So, how come when I
use Disk Investigator to search my C: drive for flv files, it finds
tracks of all the flv files I have downloaded and stored on my outboard
drives. NONE of these flv files exist on the C: drive. How come none
of the eraser programs I'm using find these file tracks to erase? Where
in the bleep are these usage 'tracks' hiding?

Here is an example of some of the usage tracks Disk Investigtor finds:

Nope. I don't use the page file. I have the max amount of memory for
XP, 4 Gigs, and Windows works just fine without the page file taking up
more mem.

(I used a different remailer this time instead of pboxmix. I answered
you a day ago, but the remailer system screwed up and seems to have lost
my post.)

I guess I'm going to have to go the TrueCrypt route.

My main worry about all this is that the RIAA - Recording Industry
Association of America, may be going after music uploaders/downloaders
on Usenet after the finish off those who are downloading/uploading music
on the Web. The bums are now trying to pass a law against us creating
MP3 files from our own PURCHASED cds.

Anyway, that's the reason I'm worried about this stuff.

There is always a page file. Windows will not operate without at least
a small one.

Installed TrueCrypt. End of problem. Screw 'eraser' programs. They're
worthless, as installing and using Disk Investigator will prove to you.
No matter what drive you stored your FLVs, MP3s, and MP4s music files
on, the download tracks remain hidden and, seemingly untouchable, on
your C: drive.
