From: 11erl24 on 9 Sep 2005 21:14 My Windows XP Pro came with Service Pack 2 which contains MS WorksSuite. I have a PowerPoint Presentation that needs to be edited and I can not find the PowerPoint application. Does MS WorksSuite contain PowerPoint or any other presentation application?
From: Chirag on 9 Sep 2005 21:29 MS Works Suite does not seem to have any presentation product. It seems to include PowerPoint Viewer that will allow you to see the slide shows but not edit them. You will need to purchase Microsoft Office to get PowerPoint. - Chirag OfficeOne Animations - Add over 50 animation effects to PowerPoint http://officeone.mvps.org/anims/anims.html "11erl24" <11erl24(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:19045CA2-0AD1-4F79-B086-EF2054A9A3CC(a)microsoft.com... > My Windows XP Pro came with Service Pack 2 which contains MS WorksSuite. From: Timothy L on 9 Sep 2005 22:26 Or purchase the stand alone version of Microsoft PowerPoint. Here are some helpful links: How to Buy (Microsoft Office 2003 Editions) http://www.microsoft.com/office/editions/howtobuy/default.mspx How to Buy (Microsoft PowerPoint 2003) http://www.microsoft.com/office/powerpoint/howtobuy/default.mspx NOTE: Microsoft Office Basic Edition 2003 (which is available only as a preinstalled option from participating computer manufacturers) DOES NOT include Microsoft PowerPoint 2003. Or you could download a free open source alternative such as OpenOffice.org which can create, open, edit, and save Microsoft PowerPoint Presentations (.ppt), Slide Shows (.pps), and Templates (.pot). You find more information about OpenOffice.org at, well... http://www.openoffice.org/ The latest stable release (at the time of this post) is OpenOffice.org 1.1.4. You can download it here: http://download.openoffice.org/1.1.4/ Other downloads can be found here: http://download.openoffice.org/ And if you need a manual for OpenOffice.org (i.e. an installation manual), you can find them here: http://documentation.openoffice.org/manuals/ To view PDF files, you need the Adobe Acrobat Reader. You can download it here: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html OpenOffice.org may not be the best option, but it is an option none the less. For those users who don't have Microsoft PowerPoint and just need to view a Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation (.ppt), Slide Show (.pps), and/or Template (.pot), you can download the free Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer 2003. Here are some helpful links: Download PowerPoint Viewer 2003 http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=428D5727-43AB-4F24-90B7-A94784AF71A4&displaylang=en Fix it: I want to open a presentation but I don't have PowerPoint http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HP011684351033.aspx Install and run PowerPoint Viewer 2003 http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HP030784121033.aspx Run a presentation with PowerPoint Viewer http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HP052419601033.aspx New features of the PowerPoint Viewer in PowerPoint 2003 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/827110/ How to use a presentation playlist file in PowerPoint Viewer 2003 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/827766/ List of command line switches for PowerPoint 2003 Viewer http://support.microsoft.com/kb/830040/ If you are running an earlier version of Windows, can't get Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer 2003 to install/run, or if you need to view a Microsoft PowerPoint 95 Presentation (.ppt), Slide Show (.pps), and/or Template (.pot), then you need to download and install the free Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer 97.
