A comparison of LTE with WiMAX will be presented. Technical details to
be covered will include system architectures, functional entities,
advanced antenna technologies (MIMO), air interface (OFDMA), and the
factors that may lead to the success of WiMAX or LTE technology - which
will lead to 4G. Also to be discussed will be the standards
organizations that are actively involved in the standardization of 4G
(3GPP, 3GPP2, IEEE, and the WiMAX Forum), and their up-to date efforts
in the standardization of 4G.

BIO - Dr. Raziq Yaqub is a Senior Systems Engineer at Telcordia
Technologies and was previously an Executive Director of Toshiba America
Research, Inc. He earned a Ph.D. in Wireless Communications from Keio
University in Japan and a MBA in Marketing from Fairleigh Dickenson
University. One of his specialties is Standards for the Wireless
Communications Industry. He was working group chairman of the Mobile
Wireless Internet Forum and a contributor to several standards bodies
including 3GPP, WiMAX, OMA and IEEE. In addition to his numerous
patents, papers and awards, he recently received the “Innovators Award”
from the New Jersey Inventors Hall of Fame.
