As the msnews.microsoft.com server is being phased out, there will only
be Windows 7 forums - no (microsoft) newsgroups anymore.

You should be able to access the new Microsoft forums on your newsreader by
using and installing an NNTP bridge.

http://connect.microsoft.com/MicrosoftForums/

However, there are other newsgroups on other servers :

alt.msdos.batch
alt.windows-xp
alt.windows7.general

....on server :

nntp.aioe.org

....are three groups on one of them.
