Hi.

For some reason, Windows Media Player isn't displaying video content.
However, it *does* play the audio associated with a WMV file.

Suggestions on how to fix?

Try mplayer or VLC with codecs.

The feeling that you've *never*, *ever* been in this situation before.

Get Flip4Mac and watch it with the QT player?

(Flip4Mac is free as MS is funding them, since MS dropped WM Player
development on the Mac)

What a coincidence! I was just thinking about posting a
report on how I got a wmv file to play in QuickTime using
Flip4Mac and someone else mentioned it first. But I will
report it anyway.

I had a wmv which I couldn't play in either QuickTime
or MPlayer, but after installing Flip4Mac it played fine
in QuickTime. As I understand it the only current ways to
view a wmv3 file under Mac OS X are to either install
Windows Media Player for Mac or use Flip4Mac. There was
some indication that MPlayer would be able to do it but I
couldn't get it to work.

Of course if the file is also locked up by some sort of
Digital Restrictions Management system then Flip4Mac may
not be able to do it either.

Like your experience, I too have used Flip4Mac to play multiple WMV and
WMA files (mostly the ones on the CNN.com website). Works fine on my
iBook/G4.
