From: Andi on 10 May 2008 05:03 Hi folks, yesterday i sntalled SP3 on my both XP Pro PCs - LAPTOP and BIGONE Installation was successful. Now I can not access Network folders on LAPTOP. The other way round is no problem: Access Network folders on BIGONE The share settings are the same: There is only only user XYZ allowed. User XYZ exists on both PCs with the same password. Update: with Share settings "all Users" instead of "user XYZ" i can access the folder. But is this not possible with just this special user? Any ideas? Regards, Andi

Those are the most common problems, discussed in the tutorial. If they don't provide a solution on their own, maybe the linked articles will give you some clues. Check the Sharing and Security settings for the folder - is user XYZ permissioned? Are passwords non-blank and identical on both computers? Is the Local Security Policy proper for user XYZ? <http://networking.nitecruzr.net/2005/06/file-sharing-under-windows-xp.html#Help> http://networking.nitecruzr.net/2005/06/file-sharing-under-windows-xp.html#Help -- Cheers, Chuck, MS-MVP 2005-2007 [Windows - Networking] http://networking.nitecruzr.net/

All the above settings are set. What can I do else? Check any log files? Regards, Andi
