Open a Command Prompt (Start->Run then type in cmd)
When you get the black screen and the prompt type in "Ping 192.168.1.120" or
whatever the IP address of the computer you are trying to check. If you get
a response back you can see the computer.

To get the IP address of the other computer. Open a command prompt then type
in IPCONFIG.

It was the XP's firewall. I turned it off, was able to see the W7's
printers, connected to them, then turned the firewall back on. The printers
still work. Thank you, Random.
