From: John Smith on 21 Apr 2008 17:28 My M2N board is not on the list of boards with support for AM2+ cpus like the phenom quad. And there is also no BIOS update to support AM2+. Do you think that it will work without a dedicated BIOS? Currently I have the newest M2N BIOS v0807. What will happen if I install e.g. a phenom CPU anyway? I know that I could get one of these board which supports AM2+ but I am just curious if anyone has tried this (and - of course - I hesitate to go through all of the efforts changing this rock solid mainboard) Note: I am talking about a pure M2N board without any "extensions" in its name a la "SLI Deluxe" or something like that. It is just a pure M2N. |
