From: Jaro on 16 Apr 2008 16:49 I've got a problem with charging battery i my HP nc8000 laptop. Recently i had to exchange motherboard, because of burnt graphic card, and since then, charging doesn't work. Besides, the battery is working normally. Do you have any idea what can be reason of that problem and how to solve it?

Anyway, my guess is that you either got a defective refurb motherboard as a replacement (OEM's often use refurb parts for replacements), or something did not get reconnected properly when the board was swapped out in the machine. Did you replace the motherboard yourself? If you did, I'd double-check all the connections to the board. If the problem persists, I'd call HP in either case. -- Richard Carpenter

I had motherboard changed in a service. It's possible that they connected something inproperly. because, for instance, multibay LED is on, but there's no device in that port.

That's a pretty good indication that they didn't do something right. I'd call HP or the service center. -- Richard Carpenter
