From: sam on 3 Jan 2008 09:18 Hello my scanner is producing blank (black) images although lamp lit perfectly and it scans up and down the page as normal. I am using it with Win XP on a laptop and it has worked before with this software hardware combination with no changes. It may be significant that there is a crack noise at the far end of the travel now. Is it perhaps a slipped drive belt sending the cradle too far, but then why no image at all? cheers Tim
From: sam on 3 Jan 2008 14:29 Actually I have fixed this problem now with advice from Umax. It basically involves switching the scanner power supply on and off, computer on and off and unplugging/replugging the USB lead. Nothing mechanical, I can only think these actions clear a cache somehow.
